THE ISSUES – PROTECTING ALL GEORGIANS
We need a Secretary of State that will stand up, fight for, and protect all Georgians – one that will continue in the tradition of Max Cleland and Cathy Cox to not only secure the vote but also to ensure that Georgians have confidence in those they do business with. I will continue their work with forward thinking, solution-driven leadership to protect our families from fraud and secure our most basic right; the right to vote. I am that new brand of Southern Democrat who says no to business as usual and fights to promote and protect the interest of all Georgians.
Those are the fundamental principles behind my vision for a better Georgia. As your next Secretary of State, I am committed to:
Fighting Investor Fraud
Investment fraud is a serious problem and it’s getting worse. I have a plan to protect the investments and life-savings of hard-working Georgians and seniors by aggressively hunting down scam artists. I’m also going to fight for tougher penalties on these scam artists and arm Georgians with better tools to protect themselves against fraud.
Protecting Public Health
Public health and safety is a primary concern of the Secretary of State’s office. I propose to strengthen oversight, crack down on abusive nursing homes, and streamline the licensure system to provide better information to consumers and superior service to our licensed professionals.
Defending Your Right to Vote
Voting rights are under attack in Georgia. We need a Secretary of State who will fight to protect your most basic right as a Georgian and an American citizen – your right to vote.
Promoting Economic Development
Building a better Georgia means strengthening our economy and creating new economic opportunities. My economic development plan will modernize the Secretary of State’s office to ensure that Georgia’s businesses have what they need to lead the way.
Preserving Georgia’s History
Georgia has a rich cultural history. We must preserve our state’s historic past by utilizing the technology of today.
