Georgia Trend Magazine Selects Shyam Reddy as one of Georgia's Top 40 Under 40 Georgians
Oct. 1, 2005 -
Georgia Trend - Shyam Reddy lives his life as if he has to earn every day. It's a lesson he learned growing up in rural Georgia, the son of Indian immigrants. "I always knew I'd give back, try to contribute, " says Reddy, who earlier this year declared himself ready to seek office as Georgia's Secretary of State. "In immigrant families like mine, there is this drive, desire and need to do well in school and develop a strong work ethic. There was never a question about it."
An associate in his firm's corporate department, Reddy brings to his political promise a wide range of experience in matters such as mergers and acquisitions, venture capital transactions, commercial contracts and corporate advice. A founder of the Red Clay Democrats, a statewide organization of young professionals who came together following the election of President Bush in 2000, Reddy says he wants to help usher in a new era of Democratic leadership in Georgia.
"The last three election cycles we lost a lot of ground, " Reddy says. "That was our wake-up call. Now we need visionary leadership."
